A New Set Of Pre-Cataclysm Challenges Is Live In Anthem

Screenshot: BioWare (Anthem) Over the weekend, BioWare’s loot shooter Anthem received a new set of Challenges called “The Oncoming Storm.” They appear to be a precursor to the game’s upcoming Cataclysm event, which will introduce a new limited-time mode, but players have already run into some difficulty trying to complete the Challenges due to bugs and crashes. “The Oncoming Storm” consists of three parts, all of which take place in the game’s freeplay mode. The first revolves around destroying a new set of crystals that have started appearing around the world. The second requires you to complete three separate “Crystal World Events,” activities that randomly pop up and reward you with a crystal once finished. And to complete the third, you just need to kill crystallized enemies, which are effectively Scar fighters with crystals on their backs. Getting all of this done rewards you with Coin, one of Anthem’s standard in-game currencies that can be spent on armor and materials, as well...

The New Lego Ideas Treehouse Has Leaves Made Of Real Plants

Last year, the Lego Group started making flowers, trees, and shrubs out of plant-based polyethylene using sustainably sourced sugarcane. I can’t imagine a better use for all of those plant plastic parts than this beautiful, 14-inch-tall Lego Ideas Treehouse set. Lego Ideas is a program that allows fan designers to submit their own unique Lego builds for consideration as retail sets. Kevin Feeser from Nancy, France, submitted his idea for a Lego treehouse to the Lego Ideas website, more than 10,000 community members voted for it, and Lego officials picked it as the next Lego Ideas set to hit store shelves. It’s got a fancy box and everything. One of the biggest Lego Ideas sets yet, the Treehouse set features more than 3,000 Lego elements and retails for $200. It’s 14 inches tall, 10 inches wide, and 9 inches deep. The build consists of a base, the trunk, and some rickety stairs leading up to three cabins packed with little Lego details. It also comes with two sets of leaves for the top—...

Destiny 2's Solstice Of Heroes Rewards Will Get Upgraded When September's Expansion Hits

Screenshot: Bungie (Destiny 2) The annual Solstice of Heroes event returns on July 30 to wind down year two of Destiny 2 ahead of September’s big Shadowkeep update. In preparation for that expansion, players who complete Solstice activities will receive new armor sets that will automatically get updated with the armor overhaul coming to the game in September. The Solstice will revolve around a new three-player combat ritual that takes place in a part of Earth called the European Aerial Zone. Players will have a limited amount of time in which to kill all of the enemies around them, including minibosses and a final boss. The more they kill, the more treasure chests, called Solstice Packages, will be waiting for them with pieces of the new cool-looking armor sets inside. Last year’s Solstice was quite the grind, and the armor sets players obtained were immediately useless once the Forsaken expansion released the following month. Promising players updated versions of this year’s Solstice...
